The PADI Freediver course is for everyone. The beauty of this course is you can learn at your own pace! At Poni Divers you enjoy becoming a freediver as much as you love the ocean.

Beginning with the freediving foundations in the classroom and pool, you’ll learn freedive techniques that will open up a whole new underwater world. Then, once your pool training is complete, you begin your open water depth training. Completing a minimum of two certification training dives, you’ll become a PADI Freediver as you dive deeper than 10 meters comfortably and easily.

To enrol in PADI Freediver course training dives you must be at least 15 years old. Adequate swimming skills and good physical health will make sure you gain the most from the course. Start right away, you don’t need to train for it or have experience with snorkelling, skin diving or freediving.

Learn to freedive 25m length in the pool, to a depth of 10m in the sea and hold your breath for over 90 seconds comfortably

1. Medical statement

By booking a dive excursion you confirm you do not have knowledge of any medical condition that may preclude you from diving. All students must complete a medical statement prior to diving. Positive responses will require a physicians approval before diving. The dive medical form can be viewed and printed here.

2. Flying after diving

We recommend at leave at least 12 hours for a single dive (including PADI Discover Scuba Diving) excursion, and at least 18 hours minimum surface interval before flying after doing multiple dives (whenever possible, wait 24 hours). There is no refund for bookings booked within these time constraints.

Diving Season

Diving is available all year around in Brunei with better visibility and calm sea months between March to October and wet season between the months of November to February; the water visibility during wet season can be slightly lower due to the rain and the seas won’t be as calm compared to the dive season.

Water conditions

Sea temperatures are an average of around 30 Degrees Celsius with occasional weeks where it can dip down to 25 Degrees Celsius. Visibility can range between 5m to 30m.

We reserve the right to change the itinerary due to weather, safety standards, or the customer’s abilities.


Dive Safety Regulations

Due to safety regulations, all divers require between 18 to 24 hours off-gas period on land prior to flight departure.

This means, if the diver finishes his/her dive at 03.00pm, he/she can only fly 18 hours later at 10:00am next day.
